Sixty is a great age, and Tamarac is preparing to celebrate in style.
Incorporated on July 19, 1963, the City of Tamarac is planning a “monumental celebration” next summer. To kick off the festivities, the city leaders are asking the residents to vote on an official logo for the Tamarac’s diamond anniversary.
There are four logo designs, and residents can vote until Monday, February 20. Once the logo is selected and approved, the city will add it to the staff’s shirts and hats and use it on the summer camp uniforms for kids and the Turkey Trot participant shirts.

Parks and Recreations Director Greg Warner said the July anniversary celebration would include live music, vendors, rides, games, and a large cake.
The city will work with the local Youth Council on an anniversary video and collaborate with the Historical Society on events and games in the summer.
In January, the City of Parkland unveiled its new $90,000 logo. Two weeks later, they received backlash from residents on calling it “cheap, boring, and plain.” The city commission agreed to go back to the drawing board.
