Moving and storage company, U-Haul, is offering 30 days of free self-storage at its Coconut Creek location to residents affected by the recent record-breaking rainstorms that caused flooding in parts of Broward County.
Fort Lauderdale experienced an unprecedented spring storm that brought over 25 inches of rain in just 24 hours, causing flooding that disrupted travel and left many families displaced. U-Haul is making dry and secure self-storage accessible to those affected by natural disasters, such as this flood, to aid them in the cleanup process.
As a member of the community, U-Haul is always ready to help its neighbors in times of need, said Davina Bean, U-Haul Company of Fort Lauderdale president. She added that many homes in Broward County have sustained water damage, and U-Haul is on standby to help with recovery by providing self-storage units at no cost for one month.
The U-Haul disaster relief program applies to new self-storage unit rentals and is based on availability. People seeking more information or needing to arrange 30 days of free self-storage should contact U-Haul Moving & Storage of Coconut Creek.
U-Haul has also partnered with the American Red Cross as an official Disaster Responder, further solidifying its commitment to aiding communities in times of need.
