The Youth Theater program announces their upcoming production of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid Jr.”
This program is open to participants ages 9 to 14 and will run from February 22 through May 20, with auditions taking place on Thursday, February 16.
Throughout the program, participants will learn various aspects of theater, including character breakdown, direction, vocal projecting, set and prop building, and more. The program will conclude with a live performance of “The Little Mermaid Jr.” in which participants will be assigned a part following their audition.
The program will take place at the Recreation Complex, 4455 Sol Press Boulevard. Classes will be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
There will be no classes on February 25, March 18, March 22 through March 25, April 5 through April 8, and April 22. The date and time of the live performance will be determined at a later date.
The program costs $185 for Coconut Creek residents and $215 for non-residents. Payment can only be made with a credit card, including performance materials and a t-shirt. Participants are responsible for their own costumes.
Registration for the program is ongoing through February 14 or until the program is full, with space limited to 30 participants. Disney’s “The Little Mermaid Jr.” is presented through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI), and MTI also supplies all authorized performance materials.
