Get ready to cast your lines and reel in the fun at the Coconut Creek Fishing Derby.
The Coconut Creek Fishing Derby – set for Wednesday, July 31, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Sabal Pines Park, located at 5005 Northwest 39 Avenue – is open to anglers of all ages. Participants aged 17 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Awards will be presented for the smallest, heaviest, and most fish caught. The Derby will be a catch-and-release event. Event organizers ask that all participants bring their fishing gear and bait.
Check-in will be at the pavilion near the football and soccer fields. Entry fees are $5 for Coconut Creek residents and $10 for non-residents. Payments are accepted via credit card only.
Spaces are limited to 20 participants, so early registration is recommended. Registration is currently open and will continue until all spots are filled.
Participants can register online or in person at the Recreation Complex at 4455 Sol Press Boulevard or the Community Center at 1100 Lyons Road.
