Piper High School Hands Out Awards For Top Student-Athletes

Awards were also handed out for the winter sports season, recognizing several standout student-athletes.

Allyson Knowles earned Second Team honors in girls’ soccer after helping lead her team to a 9-9-1 record. She had an outstanding offensive season, scoring 32 goals. Madison Delamotte received Honorable Mention recognition for her strong play on defense as well as time spent in goal.

On the boys’ side, Klaas Brisseau and David Santos were both named Honorable Mentions following an eight-win season. Brisseau recorded an impressive 194 saves as the team’s goalkeeper, while Santos anchored the defense in front of him.

In girls’ basketball, Janiya Joassin was selected to the Second Team in Broward County, averaging 15.1 points per game while leading the Bengals to a 9-9-1 record.

Piper High School also had Alex Gammage nominated for the Bira Piccolo Award, which recognizes Broward County high school student-athletes for excellence in football, academics, and community service.
