Pauline Ameir, a devoted community advocate and health professional, passed away on July 13 at 70.
Ameir was best known locally as a crucial board member of the Coconut Creek—Margate Democratic Club.
According to Gregory Gayle, Ed.S, president, in a statement, Ameir’s passing comes as a shock as she was recently rushed to Broward Health Coral Springs hospital, where she remained unconscious until her death.
Born on October 19, 1953, in Jamaica, West Indies, Ameir moved to South Florida, where she dedicated her life to service and advocacy, including vocally advocating for mental health services.
For over 20 years, Ameir has worked in healthcare, most recently as a certified healthcare personnel at Trinity Health Hospital.
Ameir was lauded for her volunteer work with numerous organizations, including the Kiwanis Club in Tamarac, and various roles within the Democratic Party across Margate, Coconut Creek, and Broward County.
As a board member of the Coconut Creek – Margate Democratic Club, she played an integral role in numerous community initiatives.
