The City of Coconut Creek demonstrated its commitment to the environment by coordinating the planting of two new trees at North Broward Preparatory School on Wednesday.
Coconut Creek Mayor Sandra Welch attended the ceremony, along with several other elected officials.
During the event, a special proclamation was presented to NBPS, officially declaring the day as Arbor Day in Coconut Creek.
A follow-up ceremony took place during the city commission meeting, during which NBPS formally accepted the Arbor Day Proclamation.
