A new outdoor pickleball league exclusively for women is coming to Coconut Creek, promising fun, competitive play, and a great way to stay active.
Open to women aged 18 and over, the league aims to accommodate players of all skill levels through its structured 8-week season, culminating in playoffs and a championship game.
Designed to foster a community of pickleball enthusiasts, the league will operate with a unique playing format known as a rotational partner round-robin. This format ensures that participants can play with different partners throughout the season, enhancing the social and competitive aspects of the game.
Each league night, participants are slated to play a maximum of three games, ensuring plenty of action for everyone involved.
The league is divided into two main categories: beginner and intermediate (with a sub-category for intermediate plus players).
The beginner league is set to run on Mondays from March 4 through May 6, targeting those with no previous league experience and looking to dive into the world of pickleball. Games for this group are scheduled for either 5:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m.
For those with some league experience, the intermediate and intermediate plus leagues will take place on Tuesdays from March 5 through May 7. Players in the intermediate category may have the opportunity to be moved up to intermediate plus based on skill assessments conducted by league coordinators. These games are scheduled for 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., or 8:00 p.m., accommodating a wider range of availability for participants.
The registration fee is $50 for Coconut Creek residents and $70 for non-residents, with the league currently accepting credit card payments only.
All matches will be held at the community center’s outdoor courts at 1100 Lyons Road, providing a picturesque and accessible venue for all the pickleball action.
Prospective participants are encouraged to register as soon as possible, as spaces are limited and expected to fill quickly. Registration can be completed online at CoconutCreek.net/Webtrac or in person by visiting the Community Center or the Recreation Complex at 4455 Sol Press Boulevard.
