Daniel Latorre {BSO}
A Coral Springs man has been charged with sexual battery of a minor after allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl.
The victim reportedly told law enforcement that the incident began when the man, later identified as Daniel Latorre, 37, offered the girl a ride, which she accepted. Latorre then drove to his workplace in Fort Lauderdale to switch vehicles, transferring the victim to his work truck.
The victim told officers he instructed her to follow him in his vehicle to the Coconut Creek Promenade, where he was scheduled to pressure wash sidewalks. The victim waited in the car while Latorre worked.
According to the victim’s statement, Latorre took a break and joined her in his vehicle. The two smoked a marijuana cigarette, and Latorre suggested he could take care of her, but she needed to “show her worth.”
Records show the situation escalated when Latorre allegedly exposed himself and demanded oral sex, which the victim refused.
Latorre then physically assaulted the victim, exposing her and forcibly performing oral sex on her before vaginally penetrating her without a condom.
After completing his work, the victim told officers Latorre instructed her to follow him back to Fort Lauderdale. However, the victim seized an opportunity to escape, making a sudden U-turn and fleeing to the Miami-Dade Police Department, where she reported the crime and underwent an examination.
On July 10, the victim positively identified Latorre from a double-blind photo lineup. Later that day, Latorre voluntarily responded to the Coconut Creek Police Department.
During questioning, he admitted to smoking marijuana and engaging in oral and digital sex with the victim. A DNA search warrant was executed, and Latorre’s DNA samples were collected.
Latorre was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail.
