The second annual Ha-Ha’s for the Tatas comedy fundraiser raised $30k to support local charities.
Mayor Michelle Gomez hosted the event at the Colony West Golf Club. It included a silent and live auction to recognize the local cancer warriors and survivors.
Stand-up comedian Sarge delivered a no-holds-barred routine, making fun of everything, from life in Tamarac and decorations at the Colony West to the mayor’s high-heeled shoes.
“My goal is not to be invited next year,” said Sarge, who had the crowd roaring with laughter as he poked fun at local quirks and personalities.
Comedian Jennifer Baitch, who opened for Sarge, shared relatable and witty stories about the ups and downs of raising teenagers, navigating relationships after a divorce, and the humorous realities of body image.
Funds benefit Gilda’s Club South Florida, the American Cancer Society, and the Tamarac Employee Benevolent Fund.
