Coral Springs 2023 Veterans Day Ceremony. {City of Coral Springs}
The City of Coral Springs, in partnership with the Veterans Coalition of Coral Springs, will host a Veterans Day Ceremony on Monday, November 11.
The event, scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at Veterans Park, located at 8601 Royal Palm Blvd, will honor the sacrifices and service of military veterans in the community.
Rear Admiral Douglas M. Schofield will be the ceremony’s distinguished guest speaker this year. Schofield, who commands the U.S. Coast Guard’s Seventh District, is also the Director of the Homeland Security Task Force based in Miami.
His extensive responsibilities include overseeing all Coast Guard operations across the southeastern United States and the Caribbean Basin. As the task force’s director, Schofield plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the region by leading efforts to deter, prevent, and respond to illegal maritime migration.
Coral Springs Mayor Scott Brook will also provide remarks; the Coral Springs Cadet Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol will honor military members with a wreath-laying ceremony and full honors, while the Coral Springs Police Honor Guard will conduct a salute volley, underscoring the city’s commitment to respecting those who have served.
Coral Springs provides opportunities throughout the year to recognize veterans, offering initiatives such as commemorative bricks and priority parking at select city venues. A complete list of veteran and military-related programs is available at CoralSprings.gov/Veterans.
The ceremony will be relocated to the Coral Springs Gymnasium at 2501 Coral Springs Drive in inclement weather.
