The Community Center outdoor courts at 1100 Lyons Road are set to become a hub of activity this fall as Coconut Creek introduces two new pickleball leagues for enthusiasts.
Starting October 10, the Women’s Pickleball League welcomes ladies aged 18 and over to join in a spirited rotational partner round-robin format. The league is designed to foster a sense of community, competition, and physical activity. Depending on their experience, players can enroll in either the Beginner or Intermediate Level. Beginners, those with no prior league experience, will have games at 5:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. Intermediate players are scheduled for game times at 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., or 8:30 p.m.
The registration fee is $40 for Coconut Creek residents and $50 for non-residents. Only credit card payments will be accepted in line with modern payment practices.
Hot on the heels of the women’s league, the Fixed Partners Pickleball League commences on October 11. This league is open to all adults, with teams of any combination – male, female, or co-ed. Each team will play in a fixed team round-robin format with a cap of 4 games per evening. All games for this league are slated for 6:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., or 8:00 p.m.
Both leagues run for eight weeks, concluding with thrilling playoffs and a championship match. Registration is ongoing until slots are filled.
To register, enthusiasts can head online to www.CoconutCreek.net/Webtrac or walk into the Community Center or the Recreation Complex at 4455 Sol Press Boulevard. Participants need to have a WebTrac account to register online. Those in need of assistance creating an account can get in touch with the Community Center at 954-545-6670.
