In a time where digital devices are almost extensions of our bodies, Coconut Creek is taking a bold step back to simpler times with its National Day of Unplugging event.
Aimed at children ages 5 to 12, the city invites young participants to drop their gadgets and enjoy an afternoon filled with fun that doesn’t require a Wi-Fi connection.
Scheduled for Friday, March 1, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., this unique event is not just about turning off; it’s about tuning in—to laughter, games, and the joy of being in the moment.
For a fee of $10 for residents and $15 for non-residents, children can engage in activities that promise to be as refreshing as they are entertaining at the Recreation Complex at 4455 Sol Press Boulevard.
Space for the event is limited to 20 participants, ensuring an intimate setting where every child can partake in the fun.
Parents are urged to register their children as soon as possible, as registration will close once it reaches full capacity. Interested parties can sign up online through the city’s WebTrac system or by walking into the Recreation Complex or the Community Center at 1100 Lyons Road.
