A man has been arrested on charges of sexual misconduct after being caught on camera engaging in lewd acts with an elderly woman suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia.

According to Margate Police Department records, on  June 12, the victim’s son reported the assault to the authorities after witnessing it on surveillance footage.

The incident report indicates the video shows the man, later identified as Nicholas Scott White, 39, intentionally touching the victim inappropriately and exposing himself in a lewd manner.

The victim, who suffers from Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia, is unable to consent or comprehend the nature of the actions.

MPD records show the events first came to light when the victim’s son, concerned for his mother’s well-being, installed a motion-activated camera in the den area of their home. The camera recorded several disturbing video clips on the day of the assault:

Upon discovering the footage, the victim’s son immediately contacted a neighbor to assist his mother and notified the Margate Police Department.

Upon questioning, the victim was unable to provide basic information, such as the year or who the president was, confirming her mental state and inability to consent to the sexual actions depicted on video.

When approached by the police, White refused to provide a statement. He was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail, where he is currently held on a $200,000 bond.
