A nonprofit organization is hosting an action-packed day of Pickleball to raise funds for a good cause.
Best Buddies Palm Beach, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is hosting an Indoor Charity Pickleball Tournament on Saturday, October 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Diadem Pickleball Complex located at 1000 Coconut Creek Boulevard.
The day’s festivities began at 10:00 a.m. with a “Fun Tournament,” designed for players of all skill levels, including beginners. Participants are invited to enjoy a laid-back and enjoyable day of pickleball competition featuring a round-robin format, with the top four teams from this tournament advancing to the championships.
Following the morning action, advanced players are invited to enter the “Competitive Tournament” that will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. This event is scheduled for the most serious pickleball players eager to test their skills against other advanced players.
Registration for participants interested in competing in either tournament is $100 per player.
In addition to the court competition, an hour-long pickleball clinic will offer a crash course in the sport. The clinics will be led by top Pickleball coaches who will teach beginners the rules and basic strategies of the game. The clinic is available for all to attend for a $25 donation registration fee.
The Best Buddies Palm Beach is hosting the Indoor Charity Pickleball Tournament to raise funds for its mission to help those with developmental disabilities.
According to event organizers, every dollar raised during the day’s activities, from tournament entry fees to clinic donations, will go directly toward establishing a global volunteer movement that fosters one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with IDD.
