There’s still time to shine this summer at the Next Stop Broadway youth acting camp, a program offering students the unique opportunity to learn directly from local Broadway stars — all while having a blast.
“We are so excited to launch yet another fun-filled summer of acting, singing, dancing, and more with Next Stop Broadway. There are still limited spots left, and it’s not too late to register for the most legendary summer of your life,” said Cynthia O’Brien, Artistic Director of NSB. “This is the 21st summer showcasing the top musicals live on the Center stage with the most talented young performers in our community.”
Summer Youth Camp
First up is the Summer Youth Camp, designed for children 6 to 13, where campers will be separated into age-appropriate groups and led by the production team to perform a final show. Kids can expect to learn how to collaborate in group scenes, songs, and dances. Dress-up days, talent shows, spirit rallies, and more will also be a part of the fun.
Session 1 is Peter Pan from June 12 through June 30, 2023. Session 2 will be Beauty and the Beast from July 3 to July 28, 2023. They are concluding with Session 3, the Wizard of Oz, from July 31 to August 18, 2023. The hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with arrival and dismissal times varying by color group. Tuition is $870 per 3 Week Session and $1160 per 4 Week Session, with $99 down to reserve a spot. Each session is limited to roughly 200 campers.
Teen Theatre Project
The Teen Theatre Project is a session geared for teens 14 and up, offering a comprehensive, pre-professional learning experience for aspiring performers. This year campers will be performing Young Frankenstein. The program demands a high standard while maintaining a safe and encouraging environment for all campers to participate in creating the fully designed production. Before the start of camp, campers will be asked to submit a virtual audition so preparations for the play can begin immediately.
Doors open on July 3 and will go through August 12, 2023. Weeks 1 through 5 hours will be Monday to Thursday, 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with the final Week 6 expanding to Monday through Friday, 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The last show premiers on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Tuition for this session is $1,290 with $99 down to reserve a spot, due by June 23. They are limited to approximately 50 campers.
All sessions will take place at The Coral Springs Center for the Arts, 2855 Coral Springs Drive. For any questions or concerns, contact Meera Paul at (954) 344-5984 or mpaul@coralsprings.org.
