The Indian Regional Cultural Center (IRCC) of Florida presents its 12th Annual Diwali – Festival of Lights celebration on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Broward County Convention Center.
This event brings together the community to celebrate Indian heritage through an exciting mix of dance, music, art, and food. It runs from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and is expected to attract around 10,000 attendees.
According to Prem Mirpuri, President of the IRCC, “As one of the most vibrant cultural events in Broward County, Diwali, known as the Festival of Lights, showcases the richness of Indian culture while offering a unique experience for all ages.”
Diwali Event Highlights Include:
- Live Dance Performances: Attendees can enjoy captivating performances, including Bollywood numbers and traditional Indian folk dances. With over 500 performers, the stage will be alive with colorful and energetic acts. The event will also feature high school and college dance competitions, spotlighting local talent.
- Delicious Indian Food: Savor the flavors of India with an array of authentic dishes prepared by skilled chefs. From savory to sweet, the food offerings promise to delight every palate.
- Shopping Stalls: Various vendor booths will offer Indian clothing, jewelry, and accessories nationwide. This is the perfect opportunity to bring home beautiful pieces of Indian craftsmanship.
- Cultural Activities: Participate in rangoli (art) competitions and enjoy art displays celebrating Indian creativity and tradition.
Tickets for the event will be available on the IRCC Florida website. Early bird tickets are priced at $12 until Thursday, November 14. After that date, tickets will increase to $15.
