A 21-year-old Tamarac man died after being ejected from his pickup truck in a crash on Interstate 75 in Davie Saturday morning.
The man, whose name was not made public, was driving a 2004 Ford F-150 north on I-75 near Sheridan Street around 3:23 a.m. when – for reasons not currently known to investigators – he lost control of the truck, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Authorities said the F-150 spun out across all the interstate’s northbound lanes until it reached the road shoulder, where it collided with the front of a guardrail, span out again, and hit the guardrail’s end.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was “partially ejected” from the F-150 during the initial collision, leading to his body striking the guardrail’s front, according to FHP.
He died at the scene, authorities said.
The crash remains under investigation.
