Tamarac Crime Update: Woman Takes Car Back By Driving Car Through Tow Yard Fence

This is a summary of Tamarac crime events through October 21, 2024, compiled through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents.

Burglary

A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 10/15/2024.

A victim of Burglary Residence was reported on 10/16/2024. The subject was arrested for burglary and battery.

A victim of Burglary Residence was reported on 10/17/2024. The total estimated loss was $100. The victim advised an unknown male entered his patio area and stole his bicycle.

A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 10/17/2024. The total estimated loss was $200. A burglary conveyance of two vehicles parked behind the barber shop was reported.

A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 10/19/2024. The total estimated loss was $2,580. A vehicle was burglarized, and several iPhones, cash, and a PlayStation 5 were stolen.

Criminal Mischief

Tow Max Towing was the victim of Criminal Mischief on NW 49 Street, reported on 10/15/2024. The subject drove her vehicle through a tow yard gate to get out without paying, damaging the tow yard.

Lost Property

A Lost Property victim was reported on 10/15/2024. The victim reported missing items, including a police badge from New York.

Assault

A victim of Aggravated Assault was reported on 10/15/2024. An aggravated assault and domestic violence occurred at the residence.

Battery

A victim of Battery on NW 72 Avenue was reported on 10/16/2024.

A victim of Battery was reported on 10/16/2024. The complainant advised that they were battered and threatened by an unknown male.

Theft

Publix was the victim of Theft—retail / Shoplifting on N University Drive, which was reported on 10/16/2024. Two unknown subjects stole liquor from the Publix liquor store.

A victim of Auto Theft was reported on 10/18/2024. The victim stated the vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of his residence.

A victim of Theft—All Other was reported on 10/19/2024. The total estimated loss was $349. A stolen firearm and narcotics arrest were reported.

Shooting

Society was the victim of a Shooting / Unlawful Discharge on Southampton Terrace, which was reported on 10/16/2024. A male reported a bullet hole in his bedroom window.

Fraud

A victim of Fraud—credit Card/ATM —was reported on 10/19/2024. The total estimated loss was $45. Fraudulent charges were made on a credit card at a nail shop.

Fire

A victim of Fire on N State Road 7 was reported on 10/20/2024. A vehicle caught on fire in the parking lot of the gas station.

Arrests

Catarcio, Anthony Todd, 33, was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Assault W/ Deadly Weapon- Domestic Violence on 10/15/2024.

Duter, Ismeal Gerardo, 26, was arrested on 10/18/2024 on a charge of Failing to Stop and Remaining at an Accident Involving Non-Serious Injury at N Pine Island & Commercial Blvd.

Fields, Craivon, 19, was arrested on a Larceny-Grand Theft Of Firearm charge on 10/19/2024.

Garcia, Shirley, 41, was arrested on a charge of Touch Or Strike/Battery/Domestic Violence on 10/20/2024.
