Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents, this is a summary of Tamarac crime events through July 3.
Fraud – All Other
A victim of Fraud – All Other on N University Drive was reported on: 07/03/2023. The total estimated loss was: $19,490. Fraud was reported on one of the bank customer’s accounts.
A victim of Fraud – All Other on W Commercial Blvd was reported on: 06/27/2023. The reporting person advised that a subject deposited a fraudulent check for $10,000.00.
A victim of Fraud – Wire on NW 106 Avenue was reported on: 06/29/2023. The total estimated loss was: $9,800. The victim received a phone call from Chase, who advised there was fraud on her account. Moments after answering a few questions, $9,800 was wired from her account.
Auto Theft
A victim of Auto Theft on Chambers Street was reported on: 06/28/2023. While the victim’s vehicle was parked in his driveway overnight, unknown suspects stole it.
A victim of Auto Theft on NW 60 Street was reported on: 06/29/2023. The victim’s son stole her 2018 Grey Hyundai Sonata with no tag.
A victim of Auto Theft on NW 59 Court was reported on: 07/03/2023. Unknown suspect(s) stole the victim’s vehicle.
Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts
A victim of Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts on NW 64 Avenue was reported on: 06/28/2023. The total estimated loss was: $4,000. Owners of Toyota Corolla reported their rims and tires were stolen overnight.
A victim of Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts was reported on: 07/02/2023. The total estimated loss was: $2,000. The unknown subject(s) stole all four tires off his 2021 Toyota Corolla and left the vehicle on two blocks.
A Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts victim on NW 78 Place was reported on: 07/02/2023. The total estimated loss was: $3,700—theft of Toyota Corolla wheels.
Theft – All Other
A victim of Theft – All Other on Nob Hill Road was reported on: 06/28/2023. The total estimated loss was: $1,000. The complainant advised she left her cell phone in the bathroom of 7-11, and the unknown suspect(s) removed it.
Burglary Conveyance
A victim of Burglary Conveyance on NW 57 Court was reported on: 06/28/2023. The total estimated loss was: $45. Two unknown suspects burglarized a 2020 Hyundai Palisade.
A victim of Burglary Building/Structure on NW 78 Court was reported on: 06/30/2023. The total estimated loss was: $2,675. The victims are reporting items missing from their storage unit.
Battery
A victim of Battery on NW 57 Street was reported on: 06/28/2023. The total estimated loss was: $3,600. The victim stated a person known to her drove her to the check cashing store. A female driving a white Genesis pulled up next to her vehicle, and the unknown female grabbed her by the chest through the window and took $3,500 from her hands. The driver followed the suspect taking the victim’s cellphone, and she never returned to pick up the victim.
Robbery
A victim of Robbery on W Commercial Blvd/Rock Island Road was reported on: 06/28/2023. The total estimated loss was: $15,455.
The victim stated she was in her vehicle in a parking lot when a male opened her door, held her at gunpoint, and removed items from her person and vehicle.
Arrests
Blair, Delroy N., 39, was arrested on a Larceny – Petit Theft 2nd Degree 1st Offense charge on W Commercial Blvd on 07/02/2023.
King, John, Phillip, 35, was arrested on a Larceny – Petit Theft 2nd Degree 1st Offense charge on W Commercial Blvd on 07/02/2023.
Brown, Daudi, Courtney, 21, was arrested on a charge of Stalking-Follow Harass Cyberstalk Another on Island Club Drive on 07/03/2023.
