This is a summary of Tamarac crime events through July 22, 2024, compiled through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with the residents.
Theft
A victim of Theft – Motor Vehicle Parts on W Commercial Blvd was reported on 07/17/2024. The total estimated loss was $500. The victim advised that his catalytic converters were stolen.
A victim of Theft—All Other was reported on 07/18/2024. The total estimated loss was $300. Two unknown suspects were allowed into the victim’s house, and a firearm was removed from her safe.
Winn-Dixie was the victim of Theft—All Other at 3116 W Commercial Blvd, which was reported on 07/20/2024. The total estimated loss was $300. A subject was seen entering the business, loading a shopping cart with merchandise, and passing all points of sale without attempting to pay.
Chow Time was the victim of Theft—All Other on W Commercial Blvd, which was reported on 07/19/2024. The total estimated loss was $172. Several unknown adults ate at the restaurant and departed without paying for their meal.
A victim of Auto Theft was reported on 07/16/2024. Video footage was found of a vehicle alarm activation, and then the vehicle was seen driving away.
Fraud
A victim of Fraud Identity Theft was reported on 07/17/2024. The victim advised that an unknown person(s) used her personal Information to apply for a loan of $6,440.00.
A victim of Fraud – Worthless Check was reported on 07/16/2024. The total estimated loss was $4,900.
A victim of Fraud Identity Theft was reported on 07/16/2024. The caller advised that she noticed fraudulent charges from her bank account.
Battery
A victim of Battery was reported on 07/17/2024. The total estimated loss was $500.
A victim of Aggravated Battery was reported on 07/16/2024. Aggravated Battery with a deadly weapon was reported as the defendant battered the victim with his vehicle and then failed to remain on the accident scene.
A victim of Battery was reported on 07/16/2024. The victim’s boyfriend of three years battered her.
Burglary
A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 07/18/2024. The total estimated loss was $530. The victim’s car was burglarized after the victim left his vehicle unattended with the windows rolled down.
Information
A victim of Information was reported on 07/17/2024. A disagreement on payment between a male and female who met on an escort website was reported.
A victim of Information was reported on 07/19/2024. The total estimated loss was $1,500. An unknown subject stole the victim’s money order and cashed it.
Assault
A victim of Aggravated Assault was reported on 07/17/2024. The caller advised that a known family friend came to her place of employment to fight her. The victim advised the suspect showed her a gun in his waistband during the argument.
False Imprisonment
A victim of False Imprisonment was reported on 07/19/2024.
Arrests
Carter, Jerome Deltona, 28, was arrested on a charge of Touch Or Strike/Battery/Dating Violence on 07/17/2024.
Thompson, Khiante L., 32, was arrested on a charge of Drive While License Suspended/Revoked/Canceled/W/Knowledge on 07/19/2024.
Brown, Garius Brendan, 22, was arrested on a charge of Touch Or Strike/Battery/Domestic Violence on 07/19/2024.
