Coconut Creek Crime Update: Threats by a Middle School Student Reported

Through our joint effort with the Coconut Creek Police Department to share updates with residents, this is a summary of Coconut Creek’s crime and arrests through September 4.

Threat Assessment

Threat Assessment Report at Coconut Creek Elementary on NW 45 Avenue was reported on 08/29/2023. During aftercare, a 3rd-grade student made a threatening gesture with scissors toward another 3rd-grade student.

Threat Assessment Report at Lyons Creek Middle on Sol Press Blvd was reported on 08/29/2023. Threats were made by a juvenile student towards another student.

Suspicious Incident

A Suspicious Incident at Coconut Creek High School on NW 44 Avenue was reported on 08/31/2023. A threat of a school shooting was received via Fortify.

Disturbance

A Disturbance – Juvenile at Lyons Creek Middle on Sol Press Blvd was reported on 08/29/2023. A 7th-grade student wrote concerning comments.

Electronic Harassment

A 20-year-old female was the victim of Electronic Harassment on NW 44 Lane was reported on 08/29/2023.

Theft – Retail/Shoplifting

Walgreens was the victim of Theft – Retail/Shoplifting on Coconut Creek Parkway was reported on 09/02/2023. The total estimated loss was $446.

Publix was the victim of Theft – Retail/Shoplifting on Coconut Creek Parkway was reported on 08/30/2023. The total estimated loss was $250.

CVS Pharmacy was the victim of Theft – Retail/Shoplifting on Lyons Road was reported on 08/31/2023. The total estimated loss was $125. Retail theft by the juvenile female student was reported.

Theft

A 60-year-old female was the victim of Theft – From Building at Centura Parc on NW 39 Avenue, reported on 09/03/2023. The total estimated loss was $4,791.

A 49-year-old male was the victim of Theft – From Building at U-Haul Storage on Johnson Road, reported on 08/31/2023. The total estimated loss was $1,120. Unidentified suspect(s) entered the storage unit and took items.

New Adventure Early Learning was the victim of Theft – Auto Parts/Accessories on W Sample Road was reported on 08/29/2023. The total estimated loss was $750. Catalytic converters were taken from two vehicles.

A 36-year-old female was the victim of Vehicle Theft – Auto at Olivine on Coral Tree Circle was reported on 09/03/2023. The total estimated loss was $200.

A 43-year-old female was the victim of Vehicle Theft – Auto at Windsor on Winston Park Blvd N was reported on 09/03/2023. A stolen Hyundai Elantra was reported.

Fraud

A 51-year-old female was the victim of Fraud – Use Of Credit Card at Walgreens on N State Road 7 was reported on 08/31/2023. The total estimated loss was $741.

A 51-year-old male was the victim of Fraud – Use Of Credit Card at Walgreens on N State Road 7 was reported on 08/31/2023. The total estimated loss was $675.

Arrests

Nixon, Duwayne D., 29, was arrested on a charge of Petit Theft 1 Degree Prop $100 To <$750 at 4849 Coconut Creek Parkway on 08/30/2023.

Laborde, Michelle, Alexandria, 34, was arrested on a Touch Or Strike/Battery/Domestic Violence charge on 08/30/2023.

Seenauth, Naresh R., 63, was arrested on a charge of Dui Alcohol Or Drugs 4th Or Subs Off at 1300 Lyons Road on 08/30/2023.

Ferreira, Rodrigo, 43, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended/Cancelled/Revoked Third Or S at 200 Lyons Road 09/01/2023.

Coelhoxavier, Francisco, William, 29, was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Assault W/ Deadly Weapon – Domestic Violence at 5045 Wiles Road on 09/02/2023.
